Supplements
Astaxanthin
Astaxanthin derived from the microalgae, Haematococcus pluvialis, One study performed over 8 weeks combined 6 mg per day oral supplementation and 2 ml (78.9 μM solution) per day topical application. There were noticeable improvements in skin wrinkles, age spot size, elasticity, texture, moisture content, and corneocyte condition. NOTE: these changes took between 4-8 weeks to become visible. Another study over 6 weeks of oral supplementation again showed improvements in crow's feet wrinkle and elasticity, transepidermal water loss, moisture content and sebum oil level at the cheek zone.[1]. It also helps protect the skin against UV damage, especially when applied in.a topical, liposomal formulation.
